Alright, enough puns already. This is partially about Luke Evans, but not as “Bard the bowman”. Regardless, my thanks to another bowman, @eviebowman on Twitter for alerting me to this wonderful clip of a score of Hobbit actors promoting the New Zealand International Arts Festival (Feb 24 – Mar18) by reciting a famous soliloquy in Hamlet. It is supposedly one of the first ever “crowd created” speeches of Shakespeare. More info here on scoop.co.nz.
Hobbit folk who participated in the video include:
Stephen Fry
Jed Brophy
Andy Serkis
Bret McKenzie
John Callen
Stephen Hunter
Peter Hambleton
Luke Evans
Graham McTavish

All the Hobbit Folk seemed particularly intense😄 I’m no great fan of Shakespeare, but there’s always just something about hearing that soliloquy read. I’ve been trying to teach it to the roommate’s toddler, whenever I end up babysitting him.

I think Peter Hambleton was my fav in this reading, though Andy Serkis’ slightly psychedelic bit was interesting too🙂
